What is on the Alarms tab of an asset?

The Alarms tab shows the faults and alarms of one site. You see what is going on now, when it happens and who picks it up.

Why it matters

This one screen tells you whether a site needs attention and how fast people respond. The pattern over the day shows whether a fault keeps coming back at the same moment, such as at sunrise. It helps you decide to pick up a fault, assign someone or send a technician.

What you see

Tiles at the top

Item What it shows
Active faults The number of faults on the site with status New, Acknowledged, Investigating, Work order or Resolved
Occurrences 14 d The number of occurrences in the last 14 days, from the fault pattern
Safety The number of open faults with the Safety label
Time to acknowledge (MTTA) Mean time from first report to acknowledgement, over the last 90 days. A dash: no data
Time to resolve (MTTR) Mean time from first report to restoration, over the last 90 days. A dash: no data
Active alarms The number of alarms active now. Below it: how many resolved alarms are not counted
S2 and S3 Active alarms with severity S2 or S3
With service request Active alarms that have a service request

Faults

A table of the site's active faults, most impact first: safety first, then priority, then a fix that did not work, the estimated loss, the number of occurrences and the last moment. The table shows 5 rows per page.

Column What it shows
Prio P1 to P4
Fault The name of the fault, with labels for patterns such as recurring
Asset · object The part, such as an inverter or datalogger. Empty for the whole site
Status The status of the fault
14 d The number of occurrences in 14 days
Last When the fault last occurred
  • All faults opens the Faults list, filtered on this site.
  • A row opens the fault.
  • "No faults on this asset." means there is no active fault.

Fault pattern

A chart with one row per day and the time of day from left to right. Each occurrence is a bar from start to end, with one colour per fault family.

  • 14 days and 30 days choose the period.
  • The light band is Daylight (sunrise–sunset).
  • Outlined: ongoing means the occurrence has not ended yet.
  • "No occurrences in this period." means nothing happened in the chosen period.

Alarms on the site

Above the table you choose Active, Resolved or All. The number is in brackets. Active is the default.

Column What it shows
Alarm The kind of alarm, with the part and the message below it
Fault The fault the alarm belongs to, as a link
Status Active with how long so far, or Resolved with when and how long it lasted
Severity S1, S2 or S3
Capacity The affected capacity
First event When the alarm opened
Last event The last message
Service request The latest service request of the alarm
Owner Who the alarm is assigned to, or Unassigned
  • Search… searches the rows. Severity: all filters on severity.
  • The export button saves the table as CSV or Excel. The Faults table has the same button.
  • Assign alarm is only there for an Admin or Operator, and only when an alarm is active.
  • Active alarms are sorted by urgency; resolved alarms by date, newest first.

Solar park or battery

The tab looks the same for both. On a battery the alarms are about the battery, and a battery alarm opens the Battery tab.

Who sees what

Every Monitoring role sees this tab, the customer too for their own sites. Only an Admin or Operator can assign.

How to do it

  1. Open Assets, choose the site and choose the Alarms tab. Open in Alpha
  2. Look at the tiles: are there active faults or safety faults?
  3. Choose a row in Faults to open the fault and handle it.
  4. Want to see every fault of the site, closed ones too? Choose All faults.
  5. Choose 30 days on the Fault pattern to see a longer pattern.
  6. Choose Resolved or All above the alarm table to see earlier alarms.
  7. Choose an alarm. It opens the part with the fault: an inverter, a datalogger, the battery or the site's analytics.
  8. Want to assign an alarm? Choose Assign alarm, choose the alarm and the person under Assign to, and choose Assign.
