What data does Alpha get from SolarEdge?
Every 2 hours Alpha reads the inverters' quarter-hour values, and every hour SolarEdge's open alerts. A gap up to 7 days back is filled.
Why it matters
SolarEdge allows a limited number of requests per month, shared with other apps on the same account. When they run out, fetching stops until the next month. The more parks on one key, the slower Alpha fetches them.
How to do it
- In the SolarEdge portal, create an API key under Admin → Site Access → API Access.
- Open Settings and choose the API keys tab. Choose Add access and fill in the API key. Only an admin can add a key. Open in Alpha
- Open Assets, choose the site and choose Configure asset. Open in Alpha
- Go to the Data connections step. Choose Add connection with SolarEdge (cloud API), and choose the key and the site.
- Choose Fill in from SolarEdge to take over the inverters' serial numbers. Check with Test connection.
- Publish the configuration in the Go-live step with Publish.
