What data does Alpha get from SMA (cloud API)?

Every 15 minutes Alpha reads the whole day of the inverters, sensors and grid meters in the park configuration, in 5-minute values. No alarms come in from SMA.

Why it matters

SMA only shows plants of owners who gave consent. Without that consent Alpha does not see the park, and there is no PR, availability or alarm rules on the values.

How to do it

  1. Open Settings and choose the API keys tab. Choose Add access and fill in Client ID and Client secret of your own SMA API contract (developer.sma.de). Only an admin can do this. Open in Alpha
  2. Choose Manage on the key. Under Owner access, fill in the Owner e-mail they use for Sunny Portal and choose Request access. SMA e-mails the owner a consent screen.
  3. Choose Refresh status until the request shows Granted.
  4. Open Assets, choose the site and choose Configure asset. Open in Alpha
  5. Go to the Data connections step. Choose Add connection with SMA (cloud API), and choose the key and the plant.
  6. Choose Fill in from SMA to take over the serial numbers. Check with Test connection.
  7. Publish the configuration in the Go-live step with Publish.
