What is on the Devices tab?
Devices shows a site's data loggers and every device of the installation, with the data logger that reads it. For a solar park these are inverters, meters and sensors; for a battery the PCS, containers and racks.
Why it matters
A device without a data logger sends no data, so it gets no figures and no alarms. Here you see at once which data logger delivers, when its latest package came in and which devices are still Niet gekoppeld (not linked).
What you see
At the top
| Part | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Data loggers | The number of data loggers of the site, with "on this asset" |
| Linked devices | Devices with a data logger, next to all devices of the site, such as "55 / 57" |
| Latest package | When the latest package of the first data logger came in, with how it arrives below it (S3, HTTPS push). Otherwise No package received yet |
| Fetching first data… | Only for a battery with a linked data source that has no data yet. It goes away once the first data is in |
Installation
A solar park from the configurator shows the Installation card: the same diagram as on the Installation tab.
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
| Structure | Grid connection, groups, inverters, sensors and meters as a diagram, with DC/AC, model, kWp and status per inverter |
| Communication | Which data source reads which device |
| Table | The inverters in a table |
| Make default | Keeps the chosen view as your default. When it reads This is your default view, it already is |
| Show MPPTs | Only in Structure and for a park with fewer than 15 inverters: shows the MPPTs under each inverter |
| Zoom In, Zoom Out, Fit View | Zoom the diagram in or out, or fit the whole diagram on screen |
| Search and status filters | In Table, and in Communication with 15 or more devices: search and filter on Deviations, OK or No status |
Click an inverter to open its page, or a data source for the page of that data logger.
Data loggers
One card per data logger:
| Part | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name and status | Connected, Configured, Fetch failed, Removed from park configuration or Not configured |
| Connector and serial number | Such as "SMA Data Manager M · serial number —" |
| Linked devices | How many devices hang on this data logger |
| Mock logger (simulated) | Only for a simulated data logger |
| Delivery | Every how many minutes a package comes, and by which route: "Delivers a package every 5 min via S3 to …" |
| Open datalogger | Opens the data logger's page |
| Add data logger | Only for a site without a park configuration, for an Admin or Operator |
Installation devices
A table with all devices of the site, 8 per page.
| Part | What it shows or does |
|---|---|
| Search devices | Searches every column |
| Connection: all | Filters on one data logger, or on Niet gekoppeld |
| Export button | CSV or Excel (.xlsx) of the rows the filter shows |
| Inverter | The device's name. The column is called this, but it also lists meters, sensors and battery parts |
| Model, Serial number, Manufacturer | From the configuration; "—" when empty |
| Connection | The data logger that reads the device, or Niet gekoppeld. This value is shown in Dutch |
| Previous, Next | Page through; on the left it reads "1–8 of 57" |
Click a row with a data logger to open that data logger's page. When the table is empty it reads "No devices yet. Add a datalogger first, then link inverters."
Who sees what
- The tab is for Admin, Operator and Viewer. A customer does not see it.
- For a site from the configurator, Devices sits among the other tabs and everything is read-only. You change it with Configure asset, in the configurator.
- For a site without a park configuration, Devices is the third step under Configure asset, after General and Technical. An Admin or Operator can add data loggers there, also with Add with the agent.
How to do it
- Open Assets and choose the site. Open in Alpha
- Choose the Devices tab. Not among the tabs? Choose Configure asset and then Devices.
- Check Linked devices to see whether everything has a data logger.
- Pick Niet gekoppeld under Connection: all to see which devices are still loose.
- Choose Open datalogger or click a row to look at the data logger.
- Want to keep the list? Choose the export button and then CSV or Excel (.xlsx).
- Does the site need another data logger and has it no park configuration? Choose Add data logger, fill in Connector type, Name and, if needed, Serial number and Administration URL, and choose Create data logger. The page of the new data logger opens.
