How do I keep track of an RMA on a fault?

Open the fault and choose Request RMA in the RMA block. Then follow the RMA on the RMA page until it is finished or rejected.

Why it matters

While a defective part is with the manufacturer, the site loses yield. With the RMA in Alpha you see how long each return has been running and whether the part is still under warranty. When an RMA stays in one status too long, you get a reminder.

How to do it

  1. Open Alarms, choose Faults and open the fault. Open in Alpha
  2. Choose Request RMA in the RMA block.
  3. Fill in what you know: Status, Manufacturer, Case number, Part, Model, the serial numbers and the dates. Choose Save.
  4. Something changed at the manufacturer? Click the RMA in the block, change the Status or a date and choose Save.
  5. Open RMA in the menu for all RMAs of your environment. Filter on Status or Manufacturer, or export the list as CSV. Open in Alpha
