What does the Alarm quality page show?

Alarm quality shows per family, rule and installation how many faults the alarms made, which share was false and how fast they were acknowledged and resolved. It also shows which fixes held and the faults per ISO 14224 class.

Why it matters

A rule that raises many false alarms costs the control room time and makes people deaf to real faults. MTTA and MTTR show whether you keep your promises to customers. Effective fixes show whether a repair really helped or the fault came back.

How to do it

  1. Open Alarms and choose the Alarm quality tab. Open in Alpha
  2. Choose the Period: 30 days or 90 days.
  3. Read the totals at the top: Faults, False %, Time to acknowledge (MTTA), Time to resolve (MTTR) and Effective fixes.
  4. Look in Top 5 worst rules (7 days) to see which families gave the most false alarms in the past week.
  5. Use By family and rule and By installation to find where false alarms and slow responses come from.
  6. Are you an admin? Choose Import labelling sheet to put verdicts from a CSV file on closed faults.
