How does Alpha calculate a battery's figures?

Alpha reads the state of charge and the BMS state of health from the battery; it calculates efficiency, cycles, C-rate and availability itself from the counters and readings. A day that was not read in full or not reliably does not count in the efficiency.

Why it matters

Efficiency, state of health and availability are the figures a battery warranty is judged on. An error in a counter must not give a day with impossible figures.

How to do it

  1. Open Assets and pick the site with the battery. Open in Alpha
  2. The Battery tab shows the State of charge, the Round-trip efficiency, the Availability per PCS, the Data quality, the cycles and C-rate, the Capacity tests and the SoH estimate (indicative).
  3. The Analytics tab shows Efficiency, Efficiency at grid connection, Cycles and Availability over the chosen period.
